Sky News reported today that more than seven million people in London do not like their jobs…

This is a really high number - is this actually true?

With the Transylvanian International Film Festival just around the corner - I Really Hate My Job’s screening during the festival features in the Hollywood Reporter.  The film festival, renowned for its innovation and style, runs from the 1st - 10th June and two of the film’s stars; Oana Pellea and Alexandra Maria Lara, will show their support for the film by attending.

The film was shown for a second time today at the Cannes Film Festival - I wonder how it went? Maybe Alexandra managed to pop by to see it again…

Our very own Alexandra Maria Lara (Suzie) was at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday promoting Anton Corbijn’s Control which opened Directors Fortnight and is about the short life of Joy Division’s Ian Curtis.

The Hollywood Reporter describes Alexandra’s character “as a tasty Belgian bird named Annik who poses as a journalist but gets more than just a few quotes”. Sounds like a fun role!

May 16 - sitting in the US pavillion, having a drink…the screening was packed … Next one Friday.

On the phone last night with our co producers planning for two festivals in Romania and Seattle… Alexandra Maria Lara is a special guest in Transylvania along with Oliver Parker , and I am sure they will be sending daily updates to the the blog…alongside insights from Andrew and Jennie Higgie….all coming soon in June. Its quite an event in Transylvania….

Do I like my job?

I have been coming to Cannes for 20 years, an anniversary in fact… And it still remains a picturesque place…full of 24 hour energy and gems of films every year…so can’t complain that I hate my job really…

Drawing parallels with Neve Campbell’s own nude scene as Abi in the film, a member of the crew talks of her own experiences as a scantily clad waitress.

After watching this film I feel so lucky that I’ve never worked in a restaraunt - it looks awful…I’ve heard bad stories from so many of my friends about rude customers, stressful nights and annoying co-workers but I could see from this how bad it actually gets…driving even one waitress to take all her clothes off (poor Abi!) 

Not that the jobs I’ve had have been great…
